A timelapse I made from work. Looking west along 52nd St. from 3rd Ave. as a summer thunderstorm blew over Manhattan. It got really dark right before the storm, but brightened up a lot even as the rain fell.

I made a time lapse video of Rough Periwinkles (Littorina saxatilis) browsing among the brown algae (Fucus sp.) in a tidepool in Rye, NH near the Seacoast Science Center. The action is sped up 75 times (34 minutes are compressed into 27 seconds). View in HD for maximum gastropod action.

Venus and Jupiter set over the traffic on 10th Avenue (at 48th Street) in Manhattan.

Technical details:
1 second exposures at 4-second intervals, taken with CHDK firmware (basic intervalometer script) on a Canon S95. Frames were turned into a movie with mencoder, and play back at 30 frames per second.
